Marie Evelyn Arkesteyn (Lill)

Marie Evelyn Arkesteyn (Lill) of Livonia, went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, August 8, at the age of 94. Marie was born in Chicago on October 15, 1929.

She is survived by her niece and nephews, Leonard (Marilyn) Arkesteyn, David Arkesteyn, Jim (Claudia) Arkesteyn, Ann (John) Ostrowski, John (Karen) Arkesteyn, & Alyn (Theresa) Arkesteyn. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, William “Bill”, her parents Steve and Anna Lill, sister Analee, brothers and sisters-in-law, Casey & Marie Arkesteyn, and Henry & Dorothy Arkesteyn, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Marie attended Dominican High School in Detroit. In February of 1949, she and Bill were married. A spitfire and always on the move, Marie loved dogs, and enjoyed traveling and storytelling. Marie loved company and was known for her affectionate greeting of a hug and a kiss.

A funeral Mass in memory of Marie will be held on Wednesday, August 14th, at 10:30AM at St. Colette Church in Livonia. Visitation will be held for one-half hour prior to Mass, beginning at 10:00AM.
