He was a good friend and even better golf partner, except if he had a bridge tournament to go to. We were up three with four holes to go and he told me he had to leave to play bridge. It was the last day of a three day member member match and we were winning our flight. I thought he was kidding but he wasn’t. We won , thanks to his much better skills, and in spite of his perplexing priorities. I loved playing with Bill and truly enjoyed his company, on and off the golf course.
