Police: Westland father of twins hurt when woman deliberately plows car into driveway
A young Westland couple, identified as Luke and Hailey Vinsko by a GoFundMe, had just returned from their first date night since having twins Saturday evening when they were hit by a vehicle in their own driveway.
The suspect, a 43-year-old female resident of Westland, intentionally struck multiple vehicles and caused major damage on the 3400 block of Florence Street, including severely injuring 32-year-old Luke Vinsko by slamming into the Vinskos' cars in their driveway, pushing them into the garage and pinning him underneath his own car.
Vinsko was rushed to the hospital where an emergency amputation was performed on one leg, while the toes on his other leg were broken.
Westland Police took the suspect into custody for multiple counts related to intentionally colliding her vehicle into multiple others and for severely injuring Vinsko. Alcohol and drugs appear to be a factor in the incident, confirmed Westland police.
According to the GoFundMe, the suspect was attempting to cause great harm to an ex-boyfriend that used to live in the Vinskos' home. Witnesses say she was seen laughing before crying when confronted by police.

Friends of the Vinskos started the GoFundMe to help the family cover expenses and damages, including the loss of both of their vehicles, as both were totaled and collected as evidence by the Westland Police Department.
The female suspect is expected to be arraigned Tuesday morning. The Westland Police Traffic Bureau, along with the Western Wayne Crash Response Team, is still investigating this incident and will submit the details of the investigation to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
