Giancarlo Esposito, Carla Gugino, other celebs coming to Motor City Comic Con this weekend

Motor City Comic Con is back in town this weekend with a particularly star-studded celebrity guest list.

On top of another long list of comic book creators and artists, writers and illustrators in Artist Alley, a live choose-your-own-adventure game and interactive Dungeons and Dragons, and the convention's signature photo ops with famous film vehicles, cosplay contests and other events, this weekend's Comic Con is bringing a handful of A-list and B-list actors to metro Detroit for meet-and-greets, Q&As, panel discussions and autograph signings.

Here's the top 10 biggest celebrity names coming to Motor City Comic Con this weekend, May 17-19.

Giancarlo Esposito

Giancarlo Esposito is an actor known for his popular roles as Gus Fring in "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul," Stan Edgar in "The Boys" and Moff Gideon in "The Mandalorian."

William Shatner

William Shatner is most known for his role as Captain Kirk in "Star Trek" franchise, but he has starred in films such as "Hawaii Five-O," "Miss Congeniality" and "Boston Legal."

Cobie Smulders

Cobie Smulders is played Robin in "How I Met Your Mother" before taking the role as S.H.I.E.L.D agent Maria Hill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise.

Katey Sagal

Katey Sagal played Peg Bundy on the late 1980s and 1990s sitcom "Married with Children," and more recently played Gemma Teller Morrow in "Sons of Anarchy," along with numerous other titles throughout the span of her career.

Carla Gugino

Carla Gugino has notably acted in films like "Watchmen," "Son in Law," "American Gangster" and "San Andreas," but she has recently received attention for her roles in Mike Flanagan projects, like "The Fall of the House of Usher," "The Haunting of Hill House" and "Gerald's Game."

Heather Graham

Heather Graham is known for her role as Felicity Shagwell in "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me," Mercedes Lane in "License to Drive" and Rollergirl in Boogie Nights.

Helen Hunt

Helen Hunt had starring roles in the 1990s sitcom "Mad About You," as well as the films "Twister" and "As Good As It Gets." At 8 p.m. on Saturday, Hunt will be hosting a Q&A session followed by an exclusive screening of "Twister."

John Ratzenberger

John Ratzenberger played Cliff Clavin in the beloved 1980s sitcom "Cheers" and has voice acted in numerous Pixar movies, such as Hamm in "Toy Story" and the Abominable Snowman in "Monsters, Inc."

Tom Kenny

Tom Kenny is the voice of the iconic yellow sponge and his pet snail, Gary, in "SpongeBob SquarePants," and also voices Ice King in "Adventure Time" and Squanchy in "Rick and Morty." On Sunday at 9 a.m., Kenny and Spongebob artist Dave Aikins will host an exclusive panel for an additional cost.

Charlie Hunnam

Charlie Hunnam is known for his role as Jax Teller, the lead of "Sons of Anarchy," and Kai in "Rebel Moon-Part One: A Child of Fire."

  • Saturday, May 18, from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 19, from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Where: Suburban Collection Showplace at 46100 Grand River Ave. in Novi

How much: Adult passes are $30 online and $40 at the door on Friday, $45 online and $50 at the door on Saturday and $40 online and $45 at the door on Sunday, and adult weekend passes are $90 online and $95 at the door. Children between the ages of 6 and 12 are $10 online and $20 at the door on Friday and Saturday, and children's weekend passes at $20 online and $30 at the door; Sunday is Kid's Day, where all children under 12 are free with entrance of a paid adult. Note that at the door purchases are subject to availability and many special events and other attractions are an additional cost.
