First Michigan Toastique location opening in Ann Arbor

An artisan toast and juice concept with a wellness-focused menu is opening its first Michigan location on Saturday.

Toastique, with more than 25 locations nationwide, is known for its gourmet toast creations and other items. It will celebrate its grand opening in Ann Arbor at 200 E. Washington St. As part of Toastique’s grand opening, beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, the first 100 guests in line will receive $50 in Toastique rewards dollars with a minimum $10 purchase. The $50 in rewards is for use on a future visit via the Toastique loyalty program.

Toastique boasts a menu that is wellness and health-conscious-focused and includes ingredients that are sourced in season and responsibly, its website says.

Along with gourmet toast and juices, Toastique features smoothie bowls, nutrient-rich cold-pressed juices, espresso and coffee, and other convenient grab-and-go options such as salads.

Its menu includes smoked salmon toast with a herbed cream cheese spread, arugula, cucumber, pickled onion, capers, toasty seasoning, microgreens, lemon twist on sourdough toast. There’s a spicy crab toast with lump crab, melted Swiss and fontina cheese, sriracha aioli, tomato, bibb lettuce, jalapeño, microgreens, lemon twist on Rustico toast.

Toastique’s variety of composed bowls have a variety of ingredients from acai to bananas to almond milk, granola and chopped dates. There are also freshly blended smoothies, cold-pressed juices, coffee and espresso offerings and iced collagen lattes.

The Washington, D.C.-based chain was founded in 2018 with an “artistic approach to crafting exquisite food grounded in paying homage to the natural beauty and simplicity found in responsibly sourced ingredients,” according to a news release. There are more than 25 locations in several states.

In Ann Arbor, the nearly 1,300 square-foot Toastique features indoor and outdoor seating and is nearby the University of Michigan campus.  Hours will be 7 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.
